Gentle Reader,

"Do you teach classes on how to use a (high speed rotary tool)?" she inquired. It was a question I have been asked many, many times in the 11 years I have been doing in-store demonstrations of one of the more popular high speed rotary tools. "Well, I could, but":.. Years ago it would have been easy, to-day, with the high cost of rental space and the prohibitive insurance fees for workers compensation, public liability, etc. etc. it is just too much fuss. I was going to write a book and sell it, but a web site offered more advantages. Audio and video files can be added, readers can contribute, and, in our fast-changing world, this site can be updated with all the latest info.

I have provided for my family for many years as a woodworker, teacher, freelance carpenter, crafter, builder, electronics, a tinsmith, a plumber, a sailor, and a poet. That's not true, I don't do poetry!. However, I do have an Electronics Diploma, a BSc. and many, many years of experience in woodworking, power tools, and fixing things!

How do I know so much about HSRT's? Well, at every in-store demonstration that I have done over the last 11 years, my customers have taught me something! People who use rotary tools are, by and large, a contented happy bunch, and are pleased to share their knowledge and ideas.
Now, if I can only remember all that stuff, and pass it on to you.

Presently, I live on the West Coast of North America, and when I can get some time away from my computer, woodcraft, art, and photography, I go out and do freelance carpentry to pay the bills.

Best Wishes,

John
